Feng Shui + Staging

Healthy Home

“Leslie suggests solutions but is gentle in her persuasion…. Overall we give Leslie a 10 and highly recommend her.”

The Problem

Jeanie and Brian were overwhelmed with stuff and did not like spending time in their shared multi-use room. Its purpose was for relaxing, reading, watching TV, and making jewelry. Overall, they wanted to make their home feel healthier and less overwhelming by implementing Feng Shui.

Right away, I noticed the hallway located in the center of the townhome. It lead to the back rooms and was cluttered with overstuffed bookshelves, knick-knacks, art, a bench, blankets and pillows stacked on the floor. In Feng Shui, the center of the home relates to the inhabitants’ health. In this case, it was a “clogged artery” in the home.

The multi-purpose room in their marriage corner was overpowered with fiery red, which was much too intense for a relaxation room. It was also over furnished and cluttered, leaving no room for movement or creativity.

The Solution

We removed everything in the hallway and placed a tasteful, calming painting of a trolley on the wall. This signifies movement.

In the back room, we removed the red curtains and multiple pieces of furniture, including the oversized desk that was blocking the windows. Jeanie and Brian were able to downsize four large bookshelves to one. I found a lovely roll top desk hidden away in their garage, which I used to store Brian’s jewelry making supplies and topped it with a small plant to bring in the earth element. We replaced the large rectangular desk with a smaller, efficient corner unit.

What they Have to Say….

“We were overwhelmed with our “stuff,” books, papers, knick-knacks and even furniture. We wanted some help with decluttering and improving the Feng Shui in our house. We called Leslie. She assessed our goals and our home with professionalism and solid knowledge of Feng Shui. We contracted with her for three 4-hour sessions, and we are extremely pleased with the results. She suggests solutions but is gentle in her persuasion. She emphasized that we had to feel okay with the changes. We made at least 5 trips to donation centers, contracted with a consignment shop for some of the excess furniture and wound up feeling good about the whole process. Overall we give Leslie a 10 and highly recommend her.”
